Broken engagement to-do list

What to do if he calls it off:
-start drinking soda again
-kill the bamboo love fern

That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure there's other good things to do though. I'm open to suggestions.

MOAB

MMT 09 was of course ridiculously fun and full of wonderment. We went:

• Camping

• Hiking (ie Delicate Arch)

• To Sand Hill-Roll in it, race down it, jump into it, you guessed it

• To the waterfall at Ken’s Lake- gorgeous, and freezing, jump in if you dare

• BBQing- Austin is the best chef, the steak, chicken, corn on the cob, and bananas foster was to die for

• Slacklining (Kenny taught us for 5 minutes, someday we’ll be successful)

• Up Indian Ladders- by far my favorite event. We climbed without ropes or anything up this crevice using only rocks and logs. Super scary, super fun.

• Around making memories and making friends, pictures are the best way I can describe it.

Amarillo is bigger than you think

A few weeks ago I went to Amarillo… This was the first time in 9 years, and my first time at Taylor’s house. Taylor’s parents were nice enough to fly us down for Taylor’s brother’s mission farewell. Cameron is going to serve in the San Fernando, California Mission. He’s all worried his mission will be ghetto and unsafe. I grew up there and never noticed anything out of the ordinary. You get used to your car being stolen once a year, gangs, drug busts, etc. He’ll love it there and will get to learn Spanish. Hopefully he’ll serve sometime in my old stake and maybe even live in my old bishop’s basement.

Amarillo is a lot bigger than you would think. They have their own airport that major airlines fly into. We were there for less than 24 hours though so despite what I imagined, I wasn’t able to see everything. We went to Abuellos and bonded with Taylor’s Uncles (Morgan and Jordan) and cousin (Tristan). They are freakin hilarious. I like them a lot.

An important factor in my relationship with Tex is that I am honest, and he is humble. I told him everything I like about Kansas, I told him how gorgeous it is and how huge and awesome my house is. He told me his family has a nice small house. So of course his house was huge, and so fun to hang out in. Apparently in every neighborhood in Texas they have these backstreets they call alleys. The normal streets have the front of the houses, the alleys go behind every house and have their garages and dumpsters. I don’t know of any other state that does this. Since alleys have such negative connotations I bet it brings visitor's safety feeling level way down.

My favorite thing the Collins house is their sink in the living room, it is in the shape of Texas. I kid not. Either Taylor has more Texas pride than any living soul and we can’t talk about it without creating a wedge in our relationship, or it was there when he moved in. Either way I love it.
